Caroline Popper, MD, MPH Caroline Popper, MD, MPH

President, BCM Technologies, Inc.

Dr. Caroline Popper has 20 years of hands-on biotech/life sciences operating experience. An internist and pathologist, subsequently trained in health economics, she combines this perspective with that gained from managing a wide spectrum of life sciences businesses in diagnostics, devices, and drug discovery.

She has extensive diagnostic industry experience. In an 11-year career at Becton Dickinson (BD NYSE), Dr. Popper’s global responsibilities included clinical affairs, marketing, strategy, and business development. She was the founding General Manager of BDGene; a start-up focused, with its partner Millennium Pharmaceuticals, on development of novel cancer diagnostics. From 2000 to 2002, she was the Chief Business Officer for MDS Proteomics, a drug discovery company with operations in the US, Canada, and Europe.

Dr. Popper received her MD from the University of the Witwatersrand (South Africa) and her MPH from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. She was a Robert Wood Johnson Fellow in Health Care Finance and completed her residencies in Internal Medicine and in Pathology at Johns Hopkins.


 

Cynthia S. Sheridan, MBACynthia S. Sheridan, MBA

Ms. Sheridan has over 30 years experience in executive management in the decision support, education, and medical technology industries. She draws on her entrepreneurial experience and consultative nature, her expertise at business strategy development, and her knowledge of sales effectiveness and software commercialization to provide guidance to newly formed companies. Ms. Sheridan has taught Finance and Entrepreneurship at the university level. She has an undergraduate degree in Economics, and an MBA with concentrations in Finance and Strategic Planning, and has completed coursework for a DBA in Entrepreneurial Finance.


 

Stephanie KremlStephanie Kreml, MD

With an educational background in both electrical engineering and medicine, Dr. Kreml has broad expertise in the use of existing and emerging technologies to address clinical needs. She has a strong interest in prevention and wellness. Of particular note are the insights and relationships she brings from more than three years of hands-on training in surgery (including surgical specialties), combined with her expertise in semiconductor design and robotics. She provides important insights in market feasibility, product design, intellectual property creation, and product development to portfolio companies.

Lillian (Marty) Pendleton is the Administrative Assistant for BCM Technologies. Prior to joining BCM Technologies, she spent seven years working for two of BCMT’s portfolio companies: Bacterial BarCodes, Inc. and Spectral Genomics, Inc. Before Ms. Pendleton began her career in the biotechnology field, she spent over fifteen years in managerial and training positions.    Marty’s responsibilities at BCMT include providing support of portfolio companies with invoicing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking, and other general accounting duties. She is responsible for maintaining office schedules and procurement of supplies. Marty thrives in volunteering and currently participates in the Houston Nutcracker Market, Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Ticket Sales Committee. She also ushers for several gospel music events throughout the year, helps manage monthly VIP luncheons at her local church, and participates in the church choir. Ms. Pendleton attended San Jacinto College in Houston, Texas.
